Round-Robin groups stage, Knockout and Consolation stages, which you can combine in one event. Fixed-team Americano uses the same Round-Robin engine.

Can I mix tournament formats?

Yes. You can run a group stage first, then generate knockout rounds with cross-over seeding and optional consolation matches for teams eliminated in the konckout first round.

Do players need accounts?

No. Only organizers interact with the dashboard. Players follow the tournament from the read-only public web link in their web browser.

How are leaderboards calculated?

Leaderboards use configurable points for win, draw/tie and loss, then games difference as a tie-breaker. They update automatically whenever scores are entered.

Can I control/change teams fixtures, courts, and dates/times?

The WebApp auto-generates and distributes all matches across available courts and time slots. However, you can, at any point, edit any match and change the teams, the court assignment, and the date/time to refine your schedule.

Does it handle byes and seeding?

Yes. Brackets can include byes when the number of teams is uneven, and you can control which teams are seeded or receive byes.

Is it mobile-friendly?

The interface is optimized for any screen size, so tournamnet setup and score entries can be done on any device and players can view standings/results on their own devices.

How can participants follow Live Results?

If the tournament organizer is logged in, the tournament data is saved to the server, and a shareable, read-only web link allows players to follow fixtures, live results, and standings from their own devices.

What is the maximum number of teams I can have?

You can have up to 64 teams per tournament category. If you need more, get in touch with us.

1. What formats does the WebApp support?

The WebApp supports fixed teams (or individual players) match tournaments with different formats: Round-Robin group stage, Knockout stage, and Consolation stage. You can also combine these stages in a single tournament (e.g. a tournament starting with a Round-Robin stage and then a Knockout stage). Note that a Round-Robin group is the same as a fixed-teams Americano.

2. How do I set up a new tournament?

Use the configuration wizard to enter the tournament name, start date/time, number of teams/players, number of courts, and the tournament stages, after which the WebApp initializes the base structure for teams, courts, stages, and matches.

3. How are teams and courts managed?

Teams and courts are auto-generated from your configuration; you can also rename them individually or use bulk-edit to quickly edit the names (e.g. copy/paste from an Excel sheet).

4. How does the Round-Robin group stage work?

You choose the total number of competing teams, the number of groups to divide the teams into, and whether to use home/away fixtures. The WebApp will then automatically build the groups, schedule all matches, and create one leaderboard per group.

5. How are Knockout brackets generated?

After a group stage (or directly from the start), the WebApp selects the top-ranked teams from each group, creates a Knockout bracket starting from the correct round (e.g. Round of 16) by automatically generating all the matches for all rounds through to the Final round. A Knockout stage can also be started directly, without an initial group stage.

6. How do I enter match results?

For each match, you enter the scores for one, two, or three sets. The WebApp automatically calculates winners, updates group leaderboards, and advances teams in Knockout/Consolation rounds when applicable. For each set, simply enter the games or points (depending on the sport) for each team separated by '/'.

7. How are leaderboards calculated?

Leaderboards are used for the Round-Robin group stage and use configurable points for win/draw/loss to rank teams. Leaderboards are updated automatically whenever match results are entered. The ranking is first by total points earned (based on the configured win/draw/loss values), and then by games difference.

Tournament data is stored in the browser, so as long as the browser tab remains open, the data is retained. To save the data permanently to the server, you need to be logged in.

The WebApp scheduler spreads matches across courts based on your configuration, and any conflicts or last-minute changes can be resolved by manually editing the teams, the court, and the date/time for individual matches.

13. Is the WebApp mobile-friendly for entering scores during matches?

Yes, the interface adapts to smaller screens, showing match cards and larger inputs so organizers can update scores directly from phones or tablets.

14. How are team and court names entered?

Teams and courts are generated from your configuration and can be renamed individually or via a bulk-edit (e.g. when copy/pasting names from an Excel sheet).

15. How are ties/draws in the ranking/leaderboard handled in a group stage?

The ranking engine uses games difference to break ties in the standings.

16. Can I pause and resume tournament setup?

Tournament data is stored in the browser by default, so as long as you keep the browser tab open, the data is not lost. To save the data permanently to the server and reload the tournament later, you need to be logged in.

17. What happens in a Consolation bracket?

When Consolation is enabled, teams that lose in the first round of the Knockout draw are placed into a separate bracket to play additional matches.

18. How does the WebApp manage byes in Knockout stages?

If the number of qualified teams does not fit a full Knockout bracket, the WebApp automatically fills empty spots with BYEs. You can always modify which teams receive a BYE or how teams are seeded.

19. Does the WebApp allow for BYEs and seeding teams?

Yes, in the Knockout stage, you can modify teams and fixtures so that some teams receive a BYE or are seeded to avoid meeting too early in the tournament.

20. What do RR, KO, and CO stand for?

RR: Round-Robin. KO: Knockout. CO: Consolation.

21. How are the matches fixed when moving from RR to KO stage?

At the moment, the WebApp uses a cross-over draw (also called cross-over seeding), which is the most common approach. After the group stage, qualifiers are placed into the Knockout bracket so that the highest-ranked teams from one group face the lowest-ranked qualifiers from another group.
